Salford Schools Memory Project
We’re launching our Salford Schools Memory Project on Saturday 23rd July at Salford Museum and Art Gallery. We have an amazing set of Salford schools’ photographs, built in the late 50s to early 60s, and now sadly demolished. The photographs really capture a sense of the era when the schools were brand new – we would like to know what it was really like. So we are interested in meeting up with former students of Salford schools including Broughton, Clarendon, Cromwell, Fernhill, Kersal, Hope Hall, New Salford, Ordsall, Salford Girls, Salford Tech., St. Alberts and St Lawrence’s. We’ll be recording memories of the schools and identifying some of the people on the photographs. We’ll be there every Saturday afternoon of the holidays, when we’ll also be running a childrens activity, so there’s something to do for the whole family.
