There are 60 pages to browse through, featuring some highlights from our archive collection. The images showcase many different aspects of life in the post-war period and are grouped into categories such as Shops and Businesses, Street Scenes, Schools, Dance Halls, Fashion, Migration Memories and much more.

I worked in Lower Broughton (The Friars School) and Higher Broughton ( Marlborough Rd Primary) for 35 years and witnessed some of these demolitions and lifestyle changes. For the sake of future generations these photographs are gold dust and we must try to preserve the best of our older buildings so that we can still view them, rather than in books.
