On Sunday 29th May we went on an amazing heritage tour of Cheetham, Red Bank and Angel Meadow, voluntarily led by Eddie, who’s knowledge of the area is incredible.
He showed us many sites of interest, which he knows about due to his family having lived in the area, and having a keen interest in the social history of the district.

The walk attracted people who had also lived in the area and knew the streets well, and also people from as far as America and Australia! Everyone found out new and interesting facts about the area, from industrial sites to the meanings behind street names. One of the participants later described the walk as ‘brilliant!.
