The latest showcase exhibition for the Salford and Cheetham Hill In Focus project opens at People’s History Museum in Manchester on Saturday 25th November 2017.

There will be a range of images covering different sections of the collection, such as shops, dance halls, street scenes, products, sports and leisure and portraits. There will also be a selection of images of migrant communities who came to live in the area from all over the world.

The exhibition will be launched at an event on Saturday 25th November 1.00 – 4.oopm. Members of the project team will be there to answer questions and everyone is invited to come along and share your own memories. The launch is a free event and there is no need to book a place.

The exhibition will close temporarily from 29th November, re-opening Monday 4th December.

The exhibition will run until 4th February 2018 in the Community Gallery at the Museum on Left Bank, Spinningfields, Manchester city centre.

Project co-ordinator Lawrence Cassidy will talk about finding, conserving and showcasing the archive of photographs on Saturday 13th January 2018 2.00 – 3.30pm. There are also Meet the Team sessions at the Museum 1.00pm – 4.00pm on Saturdays 9th December, 6th and 27th January. All are welcome to drop-in, share memories and join our family creative workshops.
