Slightly before my time although I would have been there starting in 1956 . But am intrigued to know if the Mrs Iveson you mentioned was called Valerie Iveson who later went on to become Head of Hope High School. She was and still is a very strong hold no punches flaming red haired amazing lady.
Mrs Arthur was loved by everyone but she never taught me sadly, although my sister who was seven years older had her and of course everyone of her pupils heard The Three Mary Ann’s. ( never had the pleasure of that either , I wonder if it can be obtained from the library?)

I also attended Broughton Modern the same time as Ann. I know Ann very well my name is Gleniss Hughes (nee Warrington). I remember Miss P Foster she was the music teacher I was in the Madrigals a choir who sang some lovely songs and we went to other schools when we entered into competitions against the other schools. I was also entered into a choir that sang in the Royal Albert Hall. I loved doing that. There was also a Miss Humphries who taught science. Do you remember Clare Davenport who taught history, she was also a film star who was in one of the Pink Panther films as a masseuse with Peter Sellers. I also went to North Grecian Street. Gleniss Hughes.

I attended Broughton Secondary Modern School for Girls from 1953-7. The headmistress was Miss A G Leek. Teachers were Mrs Iveson. Mrs Robinson, Mrs Arthur, Miss Whitney to name a few. I thoroughly enjoyed my years there. I gave a few school photos.
I have lived in Australia since 1974. I love to look at old photos of the schools I attended – North Grecian Street and Broughton Modern.
I wonder how many of my classmates remember me
