About the Cinemas Category

In the 1950s and early 1960s the cinema was still the only place to watch moving images before the arrival of mass-produced televisions in the late 1960s.

Saturday matinees were very popular with children as cinemas projected popular series as well as films of the day. As such, cinema buildings hold happy memories for many people.
