We really enjoyed the two history events we attended today, where we exhibited our interactive maps and distributed our project books.

Firstly, Salford Histories Festival, which was held at The Methodist Church, Walkden. There were stalls promoting many great projects, including The Irwell Valley Mining Project and the Salford Victoria Theatre Trust. It’s always really exciting to talk to other people who are interested in the city’s incredible histories, and we had some great conversations today.

We also attended Manchester Central Library’s showcase event as part of the Cheetham Cultural Festival, a community focussed event which we’ve always supported and enjoyed attending. We were talking to people about our Salford and Cheetham In Focus photography project. At these events its always great to distribute our book, which has a wide selection of photographs from the 1950s and 60s.
